Florida is known for its oranges and other citrus fruits. It grows over 70% of the world’s grapefruits. My father grows a number of varieties of grapefruit in South Florida, so I used to get to pick my own grapefruit straight from the tree each morning for breakfast. We have tried growing them in North Florida without much success.

Key Largo claims to be the “Diving Capital of the World” due to its popular coral reef, the Florida Reef, which is one of only two living coral barrier reefs in the continental United States. Key Largo is close to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, which was the first underwater park in the United States, and is known for Christ of the Abyss, a submerged statue of Jesus, which can be seen even by snorkelers.
