I have included all the subjects including new grammar, art, presentations, science, and review game. I also added my weekly parent email. This is not an official tutor plan. It&#8217;s simply what I did. I&#8217;m sharing it so other tutors can use it as a springboard from which to plan your own lessons that are tailored to best meet the needs of your class.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>New Grammar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>9:30 \u2013 10:00 am<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2>Geography<\/h2>\n<p>(Class set of trivium maps, dry erase markers, and small pieces of paper towels will already be at each seat.)<\/p>\n<p>-Have the children use their dry erase markers to trace around the border of Europe and then erase them. <br \/>-Have the children put the caps on their markers and lay them down. <br \/>\u2022 Point out the locations on my map one by one. (I say, \u201cEyes and pointer fingers up\u201d each time before I introduce the next location.) Each time have the children find the location on their maps using their fingers. They say the location, and I confirm, \u201cYes, that is\u2026\u201d. Repeat.<br \/>\u2022 Show me\/Tell me the locations using a dry erase marker. <br \/>-Show me where [location] is. Put a dot on it. [Repeat this for each location.]<br \/>-Put the caps back on the markers, but don\u2019t erase anything yet!<br \/>\u2022 Go through the locations with me while erasing locations one by one using the piece of paper towel. (Do them out of order.)<br \/>***Parent Helper: Collect markers and maps and return to tutor bag. Throw away paper towel pieces.***<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>(*At home we\u2019ll be learning the locations using the songs &amp; hand motions by CCHappyMom.)<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<h2>Timeline<\/h2>\n<p>\u2022 Flash the cards, while singing card titles 1-3, then 1-4 card titles, then 1-5 card titles, and 1-6 card titles.<br \/>\u2022 While singing and flipping through the final time (doing all 7 cards), <strong>pass one out<\/strong> to each child.<br \/>\u2022 Have them <strong>bring up<\/strong> their timeline card one by one and put it on the board as we sing the song together.<\/p>\n<h2>Math<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Hear me sing and point to the 11s.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Let each child <strong>erase<\/strong> a number line. <strong>Whisper<\/strong> the song and <strong>shout<\/strong> the missing number(s).<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Sing 12s while pointing to them on the board.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><strong>Popcorn:<\/strong> We all sit on the floor in front of the board. Each child gets a turn circling one number on the board. After each turn, we sing the song and jump up and sit back down whenever we get to a circled number.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<h2>Science<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>I chant while children listen.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Have children chant it with me 2 times.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><strong>Basketball:<\/strong> Give each child a half sheet of paper &amp; have them crumple up the paper as you chant. After we finish, have them try to throw the paper ball into the trash can. Repeat 3 more times.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p>(*At home we\u2019ll be learning the science using the song by Home Video Variety Show, posted below.)<\/p>\n<h2>English<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>I chant while the children listen.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Have the children chant with me.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><strong>Speed up:<\/strong> Chant soooo sloooowly. Do it slowly. Do it fast. Do it super duper silly fast. Do it at a regular speed.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<h2>Latin<\/h2>\n<p>*On the board next to the new grammar draw a picture with a present with a bow on it. &#8220;The bow on the present will keep you from opening it now. You can open it in the future. Do you know what&#8217;s inside the present that you can open in the future? A bow to use with an arrow!&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Everyone together will sing and use motions we learned last week. Only sing through it one time.\n<p><strong>b\u014d<\/strong> <strong>\u2013<\/strong> Bow and arrow (like Assyrians Timeline motion)<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>bis<\/strong> <strong>\u2013<\/strong> Hold up your fingers and thumb like you\u2019re holding a biscuit <br \/><strong>bit \u2013<\/strong> Pretend to take a bite and chew. You just bit it.<br \/><strong>bimus<\/strong> \u2013 Pretend to put a bib around your neck and then show muscles (bi+mus)<br \/><strong>bitis<\/strong> \u2013 Pretend to put a bib around your neck and then blow nose into a tissue (bi+tis)<br \/><strong>bunt<\/strong> \u2013 Hold your hands out like you\u2019re surprising someone and saying, \u201cBoo!\u201d and then wiggle your index finger back and forth like you\u2019re saying, \u201cNh, nh, don\u2019t do that!\u201d (boo+nt)<\/p>\n<p><\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Let each child have a turn &#8220;leading&#8221; the class by singing it into a toy microphone. Again, we will only sing through it one time each.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p><a><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"cc-cycle-2-week-6\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/archived\/45491b1a56e575bc1dfa8db084b2747d.jpg\" style=\"max-height: 500px; width: auto;\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>History<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>I sing while children listen.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><strong>Volume Changes:<\/strong> Children sing it with me. We whisper-sing it together. Girls whisper-sing it. Boys whisper-sing it. We sing it loudly together. We sing it regularly together.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fine Arts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>10:00-10:30 am<\/p>\n<p><a><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"cc-cycle-2-week-6\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/archived\/aa12e40a1f5064acad0233e0c816842d.jpg\" style=\"max-height: 500px; width: auto;\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quickly review what we have learned in Fine Arts for the past 5 weeks. (I flipped through the pictures my son had drawn. If you&#8217;ve been keeping an art portfolio for each of the children rather than sending them home each week, you could have them go through them now.)<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Ask each child, &#8220;Which project was your favorite? Why?&#8221;<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Lead the students in completing the Medieval Castle picture, which incorporates most of the skills we&#8217;ve learned in Fine Arts. <\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Presentations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>10:30-11:00 am<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2>Presentations<\/h2>\n<p>\u2022 Have children collect presentation items from the basket\/table.<br \/>\u2022 Remind that when someone else is talking, children should: Stop, Look, Listen.<br \/>\u2022 Remind about presentations: Today\u2019s focus will be: <strong>Smile and make eye contact<\/strong> at least one time at the beginning of your presentation. What is today\u2019s focus? [Remember to raise your hand to answer.]<br \/>\u2022 Each child gets 1 question token (a foam rectangle with their name written on it).<br \/>\u2022 Have children go in alphabetical order. (We rotate each week.)<br \/>\u2022 Next week\u2019s skill to work on: <strong>Expression<\/strong>. Make your voice interesting by varying your tone and volume and using pauses to enhance your presentation.<br \/>\u2022 Return presentation items to backpacks.<\/p>\n<h2>Bathroom Break &amp; Snack Time<\/h2>\n<p>Pray. Bathroom break. Get snacks from snack basket and have snack while listening to memory work CD.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Science Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>11:00-11:30 am<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2>#3 Cover Up<\/h2>\n<h2>#4 Thick<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Review<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>11:30 am \u2013 12 pm<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Geography Fast Review<\/strong>: Hand out maps to each child. Divide up children among you &amp; the helping moms so that you are able to each check specific child and what they are pointing at. Call out the geography locations from weeks 1-6. Have children tell me or show me locations using their fingers.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li><strong>Snowball fight:<\/strong> Let one child pick a subject. Go through weeks 1-6 in that subject. (Each child gets to answer a different week.) Hand out crumpled up paper to the children &amp; let them throw it at each other for 10 seconds. Set back down. Move on to the next subject. Repeat the snowball fight afterward. Continue until all the subjects have been covered. Afterward, have everyone race to get all the &#8220;snowballs&#8221; in the trashcan.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Note: I always give children the option of reciting by themselves, reciting with a prompt from me, reciting with help from the entire class, or reciting with just me.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Abecedarian Applause Week 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>(my weekly parent email)<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Wow! I am so proud of all that we have accomplished during our first six weeks! Your children are impressive! I truly feel blessed to be a part of your lives and a part of this amazing community.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully you will get a chance to rest during our one week break. When we return, it will be time to break out those <strong>tin whistles<\/strong>! Be sure to pack them in your bags now so you don&#8217;t forget.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, when we return from break, we will be making <strong>sun prints<\/strong> for our science activity. You children may <strong>bring items<\/strong> (small toys, leaves, etc.) to use to make the sun print. Our sun print paper will be able to size of a CD, so the item{s) should be smaller than that. I will have extra items for them to use if you forget.<\/p>\n<p>Would you like a little bit extra? Each week my family enjoys reading books, doing activities, and watching YouTube video clips related to our new grammar. Memorizing the CC grammar is completely sufficient, but if you\u2019d like to add a bit more, here is what my family has enjoyed reading, doing, &amp; watching related to the history sentence: <a href=\"https:\/\/shannon.wasmer.app\/leonardo-da-vinci-the-inventor\">History Morning Basket &amp; Activities: Leonardo da Vinci &amp; The Renaissance.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This week I will be praying for each of your children. My prayer is that through our time at CC, they will develop a willingness and ability to work hard at all that they do \u201cas working for the Lord, not for men.\u201d (Colossians 3:23)<\/p>\n<p>Please let me know if there are any specific prayer needs I can join you in praying for. Each week we focus on one sentence: science, history, or geography. We do hands-on activities (I especially love edible projects), read lots of great children&#8217;s picture books, and watch a few YouTube videos. We&#8217;ve studied Cycle 2 a few times, so I already have posted what we do for each week.
